Not Jane Austen but an instrumental version of the gorgeous Richard Thompson/Tim Finn song "Persuasion". This sort of emerged while I was noodling in DADGAD. It also gave me the chance for some gratuitous Weissenborn slide playing - which is my playing "task" for this year. This is played on my cedar/maple Grand Comcert "Samhain" in DADGAD and my Sapele Weissenborn-style lap slide "Red Kite" in Open D.

Thanks for listening.

Persuasion

Very special, Dave...One of my favorite Richard Thompson songs. Thanks so much for posting. Your playing is fantastic as was the arrangement.

Dave, that was beautiful. I didn't know you could play so well! Isn't it fun backing with a slide guitar? I love doing that. Almost anything you do sounds great, as long as you keep it simple. Ever notice that? Also, how do you get sound clips on here? Somebody told me you have to have the clip on the web, either on your own web-site, or on you-tube or something like that. Thanks so much for that music!.Alan.

Ahhh...that was simply sublime. Thankyou.

I just love the tones of Samhain and the Weissenborn. It's all there.

If ever any of my stringed creations sounded like your instruments, I'd be dead chuffed!

That was a very nice treat. Thank you very much David. I loved the way they blended and played off of each other. Now to see if I can get it onto my iPod for those stressful times at work.

Dave,

You should have some EPs made of your playing and just hand them out indiscriminatly. Your playing is a great advertisement for your instruments. Fine work on both fronts!
